The Blue Wall, end of an era, Lea Valley

A large blue fence has been erected running alongside the canal that runs from the bridge in hackney wick up to the beginning of the large expanse of football pitches, I'm not sure how much further the development of the olympics site will continue up the canal, as I am aware Walthamstow marsh is a protected area, however I did hear that the playing fields will be used as a car park, very sad indeed. Rest assure I will be there to photograph it's last days or even chain myself to a bulldozer, who knows.

(still from Picnic At Hanging Rock-Peter Weir 1975)

In the above film as a precursor to the central drama two characters observe that their watches have both stopped at the same time of around 12 noon. We are encouraged by the the film to believe that this is something to do with a magnetic field that surrounds Hanging Rock, which is a real place near Melbourne in Australia. This in tern is connected to an hypnotic trance like state that overcomes several of the girls as we see them drawn further into the the interior of the caves for apparently no reason and without resistance. The over all effect is both profound and shocking as a mystery unfurls , one that is chilling in that it poses no questions or answers but merely is. Like the caves and the blackness that emanates from within them.

Journey by bicycle along the Thames Riveria via Starburger in Woolwich

Submerged buggy oozes melancholy near Limehouse Cut
Speakers stacked- industrial estate Custom House
The Lake Of Lost Orizons-near Woolwich Arsenal south side of Thames

"Security!!!!"-Woolwich town centre
You know those sausages that are
deep fried instead of grilled, great service. (Guess what we had win a prize)
"Last Orders"
Canning Town
Discarded table football, again Canning Town
The encroachment of the Olympiad, Newham, deep cover

River Lea Dark Energy Filter

The weather was gusty and slightly drizzle worn but we escaped the deluge, other highlights included the low flying jets as you cycle across the bridge at the back of London city airport, discovering Woolwich town centre and the mega caff, the Peruvian Pan crew, the flaming bin, Keith Jarret and Durutti Column records in Greenwich, Victorian waterworks (you know the score) the atmosphere of brooding menace in Canning Town, Greenwich peninsular Ecology Park, 'Techno Lettings', beaded curtains made of plastic ganja leaves, the usual stuff.

POEM

Instant coffee with slightly sour cream
in it, and a phone call to the beyond
which doesn't seem to be coming any nearer.
"Ah daddy, I wanna stay drunk for many days"
on the poetry of a new friend
my life held precariously in the seeing
hands of others, their and my impossibilities.
Is this love, now that the first love
has finally died, where there were no impossibilities?
